We raise our puppies using Puppy Culture protocols!
Puppy Culture explores in detail the critical early periods of development that each puppy goes through, as well as what can be done to increase the odds of raising a happy, socially successful, and trainable dog. Below are photos of our puppies as they learn to use crates, are groomed, go on outings, our puppy pen set-up, and snuggling at a puppy party.

Puppy Party - October 2019
Crate training and potty training starts early with our puppies! At 2.5 weeks of age, they start using a potty pad! Once introduced to the crate, they just snuggle up and go in by themselves for a nap! They are introduced to ground puppy food and goat's milk at 4 weeks of age and they love it!
Ever wonder what we do with our puppies on a daily basis?
Days 3-16 - Puppies are checked by our vet. We hold each puppy and talk to them, They are weighed daily to ensure adequate weight gain. We always want our puppies to double their birth weight by 10 days of age. Nails are cut every days. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is performed each day during this time period. These exercises stimulate the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the pup’s immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance. Puppies usually fall asleep or stay asleep during this exercise!
Days 14-16 - Eyes open and we get to see their adorable little peepers! We use diffused light as their eyes adjust to their new world. Puppies are de-wormed for the first time using Pyrantel. Daily cuddle session continue.
Day 17 - 21 - Mom starts spending more time away from the puppies and is always happy to be back on the recliner with us! As puppies start to toddle around, we will add one new item to their pen each day such as a toy, box, blankets of different texture, crackly toys, musical toys, etc. Towards the end of this period, they will be moved out of their whelping nest to a larger play area. Puppies are carried around in the house and introduced to different sights and sounds.
Days 22 - 28 -Classical music is introduced to the puppies, along with various other "life" sounds (vacuum, tv, blow dryer, etc.) Puppies are now introduced to bumper beds and the potty pad/litter box. Small obstacles are added to the play area. Puppies start eating from a bowl. Puppy cuddles continue throughout the day. Nails are trimmed weekly. New items/experiences are introduced daily.
Days 29 - 35 - Puppies are moved to a large weaning pen with different toys and interactive objects. Activity mats are added. They learn to respond to a clicker. They are introduced to the grooming table. They learn to think and maneuver over and through small obstacles. They are taking treats. They are introduced to water play. They are introduced to the outdoors, weather permitting.
Days 36 - 49 - Puppies are introduced to all new items that allow them to think, learn and be stimulated. Crate training begins. They respond to being called at this stage. They are introduced to our adult dogs. At the end of this period, our Puppy Party takes place and puppies are introduced to a wide variety of people in our home. They go to the vet for their 2nd check-up and are microchipped and receive their first vaccination. Puppies are taught "object exchange." They get to go on car rides during this period! They go on group outings in a stroller.
Days 50 - Going Home - Puppies continue to work on potty and crate training. Individual training continues. Second vaccination is given at 9 weeks of age. Harness and leash walking are introduced.
This is just a BRIEF overview of our daily puppy program. Please feel free to ask questions about any part of this process. Our goal is to provide you with a well-rounded, happy puppy that will bring you many years of enjoyment.
